This Privacy Policy explains how WhyManhattan collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit whymanhattan.com or contact us.

Information we collect

  • Information you submit, such as your name, email address, subject, message, and any details you choose to include in a contact request.
  • Technical and security data, such as IP address, browser type, device information, request time, referring page, and activity needed to operate and protect the site.
  • Cookie and analytics information when optional analytics tools are enabled, subject to the choices and consent requirements that apply to you.
  • Captcha verification data processed by Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse.

How we use information

  • Respond to messages, corrections, requests, and editorial feedback.
  • Operate, secure, debug, and improve the website and its content.
  • Understand aggregate readership and performance when analytics is enabled.
  • Detect spam, fraud, abuse, and technical attacks.
  • Comply with law and protect our rights, readers, and service providers.

Legal bases where applicable

Depending on your location, we process information with your consent, to respond to a request you make, to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate interests such as site security, editorial accuracy, and service improvement. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers for hosting, content delivery, security, captcha verification, email delivery, and analytics. They may process information only to provide those services under their own terms and applicable data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business reorganization.

Retention

We generally retain contact messages for up to 24 months so we can respond, track corrections, and maintain continuity. Security logs and captcha results are retained for shorter operational periods unless an incident or legal obligation requires longer retention. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

International processing

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used for cross-border transfers.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to certain processing, or complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, email info@whymanhattan.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

Children

WhyManhattan is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the contact form.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Do not submit sensitive personal, financial, or medical information through the contact form.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site and its providers change. The current version and effective date will remain on this page. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to info@whymanhattan.com.
